Biography

Patricia Gillette, PhD moved to Tucson Arizona in 2020. She currently works for the United States Air Force at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson and has a part-time private practice. After earning her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Syracuse University and her PhD Degree in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate Institute, she was Executive and Clinical Director of NorthShore Psychological Services in Ashtabula Ohio. Dr. Gillette supervised other counselors, provided clinical treatment and served as a forensic examiner for Family Court in Ashtabula, Lake and Cuyahoga
Counties in Ohio. In 2008, she accepted a position as a Clinical Psychologist working as a Contractor for the Department of Defense. Dr. Gillette served the military population working in Japan and Germany for8 years. During that time, Dr. Gillette provided assessment and treatment to children and their families while working for the U.S. Army and Navy. This included assessments for childhood developmental disorders, autism and childhood depression and anxiety. While working for the U.S. Air Force at Kadena AFB, Dr. Gillette ran the Behavioral Health Optimization Program which integrated behavioral health within the medical primary care clinic providing both clinical care to clients and consultation to primary care physicians. While overseas, Dr. Gillette also taught psychology courses as an Associate Professor for the University of Maryland.

In 2017, Dr. Gillette, who is also a U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Marine Captain, followed a lifelong dream to sail her own yacht, Liberte’, around this amazing planet. She succeeded and returned from this successful venture in 2019. She and her husband moved to Tucson in 2020 and returned to her love of helping others.

Through her many experiences, Dr. Gillette has developed deep expertise in a wide variety of psychological modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Marriage Therapy. Since researching the effects of trauma for her dissertation "The Neuropsychological Deficits in victims of Domestic Violence. Dr Gillette has a passion for treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Dr. Gillette excels at listening to what each client is asking for and wants to accomplish in therapy. Each individual and couple are unique, with their own strengths and challenges, as well as their individual goals. Dr. Gillette has successfully treated a range of issues which clients present including depression, anxiety, grief and loss, infidelity, self-esteem and life transitions. She is particularly skilled in treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder both from trauma experienced as an adult as developmental trauma from childhood. Often, the two are intertwined and therapy facilitates the healing process by helping the client address the impact that such trauma has had on their views of themself and others
